Volunteer opportunity: VSQUAD
Voluntary Action Coventry are forming a team of young people from all backgrounds and areas of Coventry to get involved in some ‘challenge’ like volunteering that will put skills and experiences to the test to help young people find employment in the city.
What? A meeting with the young people interested to discuss their ideas
Where? 29 Warwick Road, Coventry, CV1 2ES
When? Tuesday 9th July at 11:30am until 2:30pm (with lunch)
The project will be led by the team of young people who will have the opportunity to decide what challenges they would like to get involved in, whether it is a pop-up charity shop, clearing a local waterway, helping out at a local charity event or developing and painting a mural, the challenges will be diverse and fun.
The team will have the chance to undertake either the Level 1 & 2 ASDAN Award in ‘Community Volunteering or, the ASDAN Short course qualification in one off events. This will offer members of the VSquad a tangible and formal certificate to take into a working environment to supplement and quantify the effort undertaken during VSquad challenges.
If you are interested in attending please contact Shemek orRyan at Voluntary Action Coventry so that we can make appropriate arrangements to accommodate everyone and arrange for any out of pocket travel expenses to be paid. You can reach them by email on info@vacoventry.og.uk or call 024 7622 0381.
